I know it has been a long time since I've been active on the blog. I used to love writing on the blog and would often think of blog posts all day. But then I just couldn't find it in me to write on a consistent basis. Even though a thousand bloggable (is that a word) things have happened in those two years, I had no desire to write about it.
But that has changed. My mom will be so happy! I have many posts swimming around in my head, just waiting to be written. So here's the first one.
Jacob is now 18 months old and such a precious little boy:) We weren't expecting to have more children after the girls and I had geared myself up for a life with older kids. No diapers. No sleepless nights. Working full-time. But then during our move to New York we discovered that Jacob was on the way. At first, my world was rocked. Even though I wanted another child, we had made the decision not to have one. I had to change my expectations for my life here, but I'm so glad he's here. Jacob is such a blessing. . . . and I can't even imagine life without him.
Here are just some of the things that he is up to right now . . .
He loves trains and runs around the house saying "too too!"
He knows all of our names: Mama, Daddy, Nenna (Jenna), Abby, and Bebe (that's him).
His favorite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear and he makes a growling noise (like the one a bear makes) whenever he sees a bear. Oh, and when he sees Nate. That's how they greet each other. It's super cute, but we have had some embarrassing times in church when he points to Nate (at the quietest times of course) and yells, "Dada! Roarrrrr!"
When he says "bye bye" he sounds like he lives in Texas, but it is the cutest thing--complete with the hand wave and all.
He's the cuddliest child I have known. He can't go too long without a snuggle.
He is starting to learn when he shouldn't do something. Sometimes I find him standing on my desk. When he sees me, he waves his little finger at himself and says "doe, doe, doe" (no, no, no).
This is just a small glimpse of our sweet boy:)

I'm glad you're back too! :)
...and suddenly I feel the obligation to update my blog as well.
I can't believe how big Jacob is getting.
Miss you and the rest of the Hartke clan!
Yay! Welcome back. I too should get to posting. I feel your presence here in TX in your former congregation. Miss you and those wonderful kiddos!
